KHALAM (Medicated Buttermilk) Ingredients Quantity Ginger - Small piece Buttermilk - 2 cups Asafoetida - 2 pinches Turmeric powder - 2 pinches Rock salt - as per taste Pepper - 2 pinches Or Red chillies - 2 no's. Total quantity: 1 glass Method of preparation Paste of ginger should be added to boiling buttermilk and further boiled for a minute. Add powdered asafoetida, rock-salt and pepper. Health benefits It is an appetizer and beneficial during recovery from any illness. Useful during cold, cough, digestive problems or any other health problem.
